Value Adding
We add value to timber so that you can add value to the carbon balance.
Choosing timber in design and construction can help tackle climate change in several ways. One of the most important is that wood stores carbon.
Growing trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Carbon remains locked in the wood for the life of the piece of timber. And so, wood is The Ultimate Renewable building material. Using the latest engineering software and technology, we use smaller pieces of timber to create certified structural building materials.
Timber is the only major building material that helps tackle climate change. It is both naturally renewable and an abundant resource. Natural forests and timber plantations are net absorbers of greenhouse gases, and wood products store carbon. As such, Tasmania’s forests play a vital role in climate change mitigation – both now and into the future.
